The trio will perform Anita's original music, manifesting a desire for freedom, introspection, and exploration.

 

Anita Petruescu is a Romanian singer and composer. She grew up in a musical environment, but it was during her teenage years that she discovered her artistic identity and made jazz her primary occupation. She graduated from her Bachelor studies at the National University of Music Bucharest in 2019 and completed a Master research paper in jazz improvisation at Codarts Rotterdam in 2022. Her expressive style and masterful vocal technique brought her recognition as one of the most acclaimed singers of her generation in Romania, and she performed with top musicians of her native country such as Mircea Tiberian, Sorin Romanescu, Iulian Nicolau and Albert Tajti.

 

Federico Castelli is an Italian guitarist, composer and teacher who lives in Rotterdam (NL). After graduating in 2013 from the Codarts School of the Arts, he obtained his master's degree in jazz guitar, studying at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. During these years Federico has been an active part of the Dutch jazz scene, both as a leader and as a sideman in projects such as Federico Castelli trio, The Alessandro Fongaro 5et, Dick De Graaf New Quartet, ROEST. Kika Sprangers Large Ensemble, Jo Goes Hunting, Marit van der Lei Nextet and many others.

 

Marijn Van de Ven studied double bass with Clemens van der Feen, Stefan Lievestro and Gein van de Geyn. During his studies he gained experience with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and shared the stage with names such as Benjamin Herman, Gregory Porter, Ben van Gelder and performed as sideman in countless performances in and around the Netherlands. With a lot of experience under his belt, Marijn is a co-leader of Trio Vehikel, a project characterised by a great dedication to the art form and the aim to keep it moving.
